I am a contemporary sculptor with a BA(hons) in Fine Art, specialising in Stone Carving. I also produce paintings, drawings and jewellery. I have delivered workshops for 14 years and these have included stone carving, visual art and beadwork. I have exhibited in group exhibitions, international competitions and have had my designs published in international magazines.
Decadent and intricate jewellery designs working with tiny beads, sparkling gemstones and crystals to create big statement pieces and small delicate items.
My designs have appeared in national and international magazines and have won jewellery competitions.
I have taught my own designs in beadwork courses for over 12 years.
I work with different stones such as Limestone, Alabaster and Sandstone. If you would like to learn to create your own carving in stone I am teaching 1-day and 2-day Stone Carving Courses in the North West and Wales for 2019. These include relief work and sculpting in the round.
As well as looking at form and shape in my sculpures, I love to experiment with colour on a 2-dimensional plane. Colour and mark-making take precedence in semi-abstract landscapes. My art reflects the things I love - the natural world, animals.
I also find beauty in some man-made impositions on the landscape, such as bridges - as both a metaphor and a stunning structure. However, in some of my paintings I also depict the overpowering, menacing intrusions of humans in this world.
